A delegation from APG Shimla University, including Chancellor Vikrant Suman, Pro-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Ramesh Chauhan, Dean of Student Welfare Dr. Neelam Sharma, and Dr. Ashwini Sharma, met with Chief Minister Thakur Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu at his residence in Oakover, Shimla. The delegation presented a bouquet to Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu during the meeting. The representatives of APG Shimla University apprised Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu about the academic activities and various degree programs offered by the university, emphasizing the commitment to providing quality education and job placement opportunities for students.
In response, Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu highlighted the importance of private universities in Himachal Pradesh focusing on quality education to prevent students from migrating to other states. He emphasized the need to equip students with self-reliance skills and generate employment opportunities. Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu expressed concern about the migration of Himachal Pradesh’s youth for higher education and stressed the necessity of providing excellent education and employment prospects within the state’s picturesque and soothing environment. He urged educational institutions to create opportunities for the youth.
Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu assured the delegates from APG Shimla University that the university should prioritize providing quality education and enhance job placement for students by offering job-oriented courses. This would help prevent unemployment among graduates. The Chief Minister acknowledged APG Shimla University’s infrastructure as one of the best in the region and emphasized the importance of private universities in providing employment to highly educated youth in Himachal Pradesh. He assured the delegates that the government would support the university’s efforts and maintain its autonomy.
Addressing the issue of drug addiction among the youth, Chief Minister Sukhu called for collective action from the public and educational institutions to combat this problem.

The university is also dedicated to providing employment opportunities to educated, unemployed youth in teaching and non-teaching positions.
