APG along with various faculty and courses of Shimla University, B.Sc. in School of Pharmacy on Friday. To Pharmacy Council of India for operating as 60 seats for D.Pharma, 60 seats for D.Pharma, 60 seats for D.Pharma in College of Pharmacy and 60 seats for D.Pharma in Excellence College of Pharmacy. Got recognition from. Recognition for admission to a total of 240 pharmacy seats to start from the current academic session and the academic session starting from 2024 is also given by the Pharmacy Council of India to provide better infrastructure, staff and various labs for conducting pharmacy courses in the university. After scrutiny, the subject experts of the Pharmacy Council of India finally approved the conduct of various pharmacy courses. APG Shimla University has become the first private university in Shimla district to be granted permission by the Pharmacy Council of India to conduct various disciplines of Pharmacy. B. After completing the duration of Pharmacy and D. Pharmacy course, students will be able to get license for medical related business and can also run their own business.
Vice Chancellor of APG Shimla University, Prof. Dr. R. S. Chauhan, Registrar Dr. Ankit Thakur, Academic Dean Prof. Dr. Anandmohan Sharma and Executive Officer Jyotsna Sharma said that the University had applied for both the courses to the Pharmacy Council of India, which has been approved. He said that due to lack of these courses, students of Shimla district had to go elsewhere. In view of this, both these courses were started in APG Shimla University. Even before this, many students of the state had completed B. Used to apply and seek admission in Pharmacy and D. Pharmacy courses. He said that now the youth of the state including Shimla district will be given B. After doing Pharm and D.Pharma courses, one will get opportunities for higher education in pharmacy, research, production, quality testing, academic work in pharma companies and starting their own business in pharmacy. Vice Chancellor Chauhan said that the university has labs with modern technology and the main focus will be on providing quality education with practical knowledge to the students. He said that the youth will get employment opportunities in the field of pharmacy and working in the Bulk Drug Park which is going to be built in Una district of Himachal Pradesh when they have degree and diploma with mastery in pharmacy. APG Shimla University administration is committed to fulfill this dream. Whereas Academic Dean Prof. Dr. Anand Mohan says that every year students have to go to other states and districts for pharma related courses.
Pro. Sharma said that B. Pharmacy course is a 4 year degree course while D. Pharmacy is a 2 year diploma course.
Registrar of APG Shimla University, Dr. Ankit Thakur and Executive Officer Jyotsna Sharma say that D.Pharma and B. After pharma course, students can become self-reliant. Apart from this, they can also get the opportunity of appointment to the post of Pharmacist in government, private hospital or army. After getting permission and recognition from the Pharmacy Council of India, there is happiness among the academic staff, administration and students of the university on the campus.
