Mridav Thapa, a student of forensic science at the School of Paramedical Sciences at AP Goyal Shimla University, has been selected for the Science Academy’s Summer Research Fellowship Program 2023 for students and faculties, organized by the Indian National Science Academy in New Delhi. Dr. Prachi Vaid, chairperson of School of Paramedical Sciences, told on Wednesday that Indian National Science Academy in New Delhi, National Academy of Sciences Allahabad and Indian Academy of Sciences Bengaluru’s joint collaborative effort to bring students from across the country for research experiences and internships at prestigious institutions after the selection of prodigious teachers and students. Dr. Prachi Vaid added that at present time, out of 126 teachers and students from across the country, Mridav Thapa, a student of Forensic Science, is selected by Prof. Jayshree Das Sharma of the Department of Biological Sciences of Indian Institute of Science Education and Research, Kolkata.
Dr. Vaid said that student Mridav Thapa have been selected to work in the lab of Prof. and scientist Jayshree Das Sharma.
“Prof. Jayshree Das Sharma hoped from student Mridav to work on Alzheimer’s disease and other neurological disorders.” told Dr. Prachi Vaid chairperson of paremedical sciences of APG varsity.
Dr. Vaid said that Prof. Jayshree Das Sharma will collaborate with student Mridav Thapa for research as Professor Sharma conducts research on post-Covid neurological disorders. Dr. Vaid added more that the student Mridav Thapa will also receive Research Fellowship amount and he will be subsumed on ‘”Summer Internship” of two months.
Pro-Chancellor of APG Shimla University, Prof. Dr. Ramesh Chauhan appreciated student Mridav Thapa on his success and selection for research fellowship among top 126 students/teachers across India. Appreciating Mridav’s effort, Pro-Chancellor Prof. Ramesh Chauhan said that the work done with hard work and honesty always leads to the height of success. Pro-Chancellor Prof. Ramesh Chauhan wished student Mridav Thapa for his continue success in future research efforts even after completing his graduation in Forensic Science from the APG Shimla University.
“The inclusion of students in such national level research based internships under his research fellowship program is provided to the meritorious students by the Indian National Science Academy on behalf of the Government of India, which provides scientific outlook to the meritorious students in the field of science. It provides a golden opportunity to do innovations and research with new approach’, said Pro-chancellor prof. Dr. Ramesh Chauhan.
Pro-chancellor Prof. Ramesh Chauhan congratulated all faculties Nitin Pandey, Atul Dubey including chairperson Dr. Prachi Vaid, Dr. Maninder Kaur head of the forensic department and dean sciences Prof. Dr. Rohini Dhrela on the success of science student Mridav Thapa. Prof. Chauhan exhorted all faculties to keep motivating students to research areas and innovations even in future.
