In a significant leap forward in the realms of education and exploration, an augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) lab at Shoghi Museum was inaugurated today by Mr. Prabodh Saxena, Chief Secretary of the Government of Himachal Pradesh.
Others present at the event included Mr. DC Rana, Director of DEST and CC cum Member Secretary of HIMCOSTE, Mr.N Ramdas Iyer, Director of NCSM, Delhi, and Dr. Suresh C. Attri from JMC HIMCOSTE, witnessed a convergence of vision towards leveraging cutting-edge technologies for transformative educational experiences.
AR/VR lab is equipped with Oculus Quest 2, IRUSU Player, AR VR Headset with SenseXR, 3D Card Studio, 3D Glasses, TECHXR, and Smartphone Equipped with 3D models
On the occasion Mr. Prabodh Saxena said AR and VR technologies to augment and revolutionize real-world environments. AR, seamlessly blending digital elements with physical surroundings, and VR, immersing users into simulated environments, offer unparalleled opportunities to enhance learning, understanding, and exploration.
Highlighting the significance of AR/VR in education, Prof Atul Khosla Vice Chancellor Shoolini University emphasied how these technologies breathe life into learning experiences, enabling students to delve into interactive 3D models, embark on virtual field trips, and engage in immersive simulations that deepen comprehension and retention of complex concepts.
At the museum AR enriches the museum experience by enabling patrons to interact with virtual reconstructions and dynamic simulations, fostering a deeper understanding of exhibits and artifacts.
Chancellor, Prof. P.K. Khosla, along with the Shoolini management, expressed their enthusiasm for the integration of AR/VR into educational frameworks, recognising its potential to redefine traditional pedagogical approaches and unlock new avenues for experiential learning.
