The Faculty of Applied Sciences and Biotechnology (FASB), Shoolini University, in collaboration with the Microbiologists Society of India (MSI) organised an awareness session on the International Microorganisms Day on Saturday.
The session was organised under the leadership of Prof. AM Deshmukh (President, MSI) and Prof. Sanjeev Patankar (National Convener, MSI). They took an initiative to educate school kids by organising a lecture followed by an art and craft competition on “My Microbial World” at Government Senior Secondary School, Sultanpur Solan.
An awareness lecture was delivered by Prof. Azhar Khan, Associate Prof, FASB, Shoolini University, highlighting the general awareness regarding the harmful and beneficial aspects of microbes in daily life. The lecture was well received by the students from 7th to 9th classes. After the lecture, there was an art and craft competition. Shoolini students and kids from Sultanpur took part in a group competition, where they painted pictures based on the real microbiological world.
