The Department of Industries, Government of Himachal Pradesh, organised an awareness workshop to strengthen the Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME) ecosystem in the state. Hosted at the Himachal Chamber of Commerce and Industry (HCCI), Gondpur Industrial Area, the workshop brought together industry leaders and government officials to deliberate on key initiatives for enterprise development.
The event witnessed the participation of prominent dignitaries, including Mr. Sakshi Satti, General Manager, DIC Sirmour; Mr. Gur Pyaare, Member Secretary, Kala Amb; Mr. Ashok Parth, Assistant Director, MSME-DFO, Solan; Mr. Satish K Goel, Chairman, HCCI; and Mr. Alok Kumar, SIDBI, reflecting strong institutional support for the state’s MSME sector.
More than 65 participants took part in the interactive session, where representatives from the Department of Industries briefed attendees about the Micro and Small Enterprises Cluster Development Programme (MSE-CDP) and Greening of MSMEs initiative. The discussions highlighted how these programmes can enhance competitiveness, encourage cluster-based growth, and promote sustainable practices.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Sakshi Satti, GM, DIC Sirmour, said: “The Government of India’s initiative to bring together unorganised sectors into clusters under the Ministry of MSME is truly remarkable. In Himachal Pradesh, this effort is being implemented through the Industries Department, and it stands as a strong step towards supporting and advancing our local enterprises.”
The agenda also included deliberations on Raising and Accelerating MSME Performance (RAMP) and innovative circular economy-based approaches to greening industries. Stakeholders discussed strategies to improve productivity, resource efficiency, and long-term resilience of small businesses.
The Department of Industries reaffirmed its resolve to empower MSMEs through sustained engagement, knowledge-sharing, and effective policy implementation, steering the state towards a more resilient and innovative industrial landscape.
