Rajgarh, September 08
SDM Rajgarh Raj Kumar Thakur said that the government has completely banned the manufacture, sale and use of single-use plastic. This ban has been imposed so that pollution caused by single-use plastic waste can be reduced. He said that any institution or person using banned single-use plastic in any form will be punished. He said that plastic is harmful for human life and apart from disturbing the natural balance, it also pollutes the environment. He said that despite being banned, some cases of manufacturing and use of single use plastic are coming to notice in the market, which is a matter of concern.
SDM directed the officials of Nagar Panchayat Rajgarh to conduct surprise inspections in Rajgarh market from time to time to stop the use of banned single use plastic.
He said that along with single use plastic, the government has also issued guidelines for the use of non-woven carry bags. He said that while earlier there was permission to use non-woven carry bags of 60 GSM, now from January 1, 2023, only non-woven carry bags above 80 GSM can be used. He said that apart from business establishments, citizens should use only non-woven bags above 80 GSM.
He has urged all business establishments, shops, hotels, dhabas and restaurant operators not to use the banned single use plastic so that the use of plastic can be stopped.
