“On August 7, 2025, we attended the launch of ‘MS Swaminathan: The Man Who Fed India’ by Ms. Priyambada Jayakumar, a book that highlights the pivotal role of Dr. Swaminathan in India’s Green Revolution.
India International Center in Delhi, the venue for the event, was buzzing with anticipation as attendees gathered for the launch. On stage sat an exceptional panel: Dr. Shashi Tharoor, Navtej Sarna, Montek Singh Ahluwalia, Kanimozhi Karunanidhi, and Gopalkrishna Gandhi The panel discussion evolved into a rich, moving conversation about Dr. Swaminathan, a man whose work changed the destiny of a nation.
Listening to the panel, we learned about Dr. Swaminathan’s pivotal role in the Green Revolution, his unwavering commitment to farmers, and relentless drive to end hunger. This made us realize how deeply his vision continues to shape modern India. The panelists spoke not just of Dr. Swaminathan’s achievements, but of his humility, compassion, and belief in science as a force for good.
From our seats in the audience, we weren’t just observers but learners, absorbing wisdom from leaders who themselves have shaped policy, diplomacy, and public life. The signed books we carried home will fade with time, but the ideas, stories, and inspirations from that evening will not.”
