Bishop Cotton School, Shimla boys are celebrating a strong set of results in this year’s ISC Class XII board examinations. The batch achieved 100% pass rate and averaged 83%
. In addition to their academic success, the boys were the school’s most successful sporting year group in recent years with three major tournament wins. ISC topper was Manan Rawat with 92.8%. Manan hopes to attend the NDA, and has finished his BCS career in superb style, not only producing excellent examination results including 99% in History, but also summiting the 20000ft peak of Mentok Dengri as part of the school mountaineering team and winning the prestigious Goldstein cricket tournament. Yatish Bansal is another who epitomizes the holistic Cottonian spirit with 88%. Yatish was a hugely popular School Captain who repeatedly showed his leadership qualities throughout the year.
The Class X batch of 71 boys also achieved 100% pass rate and whilst averaging 80% were the first batch in recent times where every boy was compelled to study all three sciences (unusual in a boarding school). The toppers were Devansh Singla (96.6%) and Aarav Wadaskar (96%). Aarav will be spending a month in the USA this summer as he has won a place on the prestigious Harvard University summer program.
BCS Director Simon Weale said ‘Many congratulations to all the boys. Our Class XII boys will now go off to universities around the world where the resilience and drive of Cottonians will take them from success to success. Our Class Xs are one of the year groups most affected by the pandemic so we are thrilled to see them emerging as a strong batch who will thrive in the next stage of their education. Our Class XI this year will be the largest since the turn of the century’.
