As part of the campaign against drugs, the team of Police Station Ghumarvi took a major action and recovered 987.4 grams of hashish from a vehicle with Punjab number by setting up a check post near Baloh toll plaza located on Kiratpur-Nerchowk four lane. In this case, 3 youths from Punjab travelling in the vehicle have been arrested.
The arrested accused include Geetansh Batish (26) and Mohammad Afridi (25) residents of district Patiala, Punjab and Sarvjeet Singh (24) resident of district Jalandhar, Punjab. Police have registered a case against the three under the NDPS Act and started further action. According to the information, the police team had set up a check post near Baloh toll plaza. During this, a vehicle with Punjab number was stopped for search. During the search, hashish was recovered from the vehicle.
In another case, Barmana police searched a youth sitting on a rain shelter on the basis of suspicion during patrolling and recovered 75.52 grams of hashish from his bag. The accused was identified as Arpit Sharma (24) resident of I-150 Shakkarpur JJ Colony, Anand Vas Shakkarpur North West Delhi. Police registered a case against the accused at Barmana police station and took him into custody. DSP Bilaspur Madan Dhiman confirmed both the cases and said that strict action against the drug mafia will continue.
