Under the campaign being run against drugs under the assembly constituency Ghumarvi, the police have achieved another success today. The team of Ghumarvi police station has succeeded in recovering 16.6 grams of chitta from a youth of village Bhadrog. The accused has been identified as Kailash Kumar (27) son of Kashmir Singh, resident of village Bhadrog, post office Naswal, tehsil Ghumarvi, district Bilaspur. The Ghumarvi police station team was patrolling near Kalri, during which the youth’s activities became suspicious, so on searching the youth, the banned drug substance chitta was recovered from him. After this, the youth was arrested on the spot. A case has been registered against the youth in Ghumarvi police station and an intensive investigation is being done.
DSP Chandrapal Singh confirmed the case and said that a case has been registered against the accused under the relevant sections of the NDPS Act and the case is being thoroughly investigated. The accused is also being questioned as to where he used to get this drug from and to whom he used to supply it. He said that the police are continuously active in uprooting the drug network and every possible effort is being made to save the youth from this evil.
