Head Constable Ritesh Thakur serving in Himachal Police has been selected in Himachal Pradesh Finance and Accounts Service (HPFS). This achievement is a matter of pride not only for the Police Department and Himachal Pradesh but also for Bilaspur district. Head Constable Ritesh Thakur is a resident of Baghad village of Nichli Bhated Panchayat of Bilaspur district. His family has a military background. Ritesh’s great grandfather, grandfather and father have all served in the Indian Army. Taking forward this glorious tradition, he chose the path of service in Himachal Pradesh Police and now by getting selected in a prestigious service like HPFFS, he has presented a great example of his talent and hard work. Ritesh is the first youth till date to be appointed to the post of Section Officer at the age of just 24 years.
At the same time, he has achieved remarkable achievements in his short service in the police department. In February 2025, he won the gold medal in Office Automation (Computer Awareness Event) at the 68th All India Police Duty Meet held in Ranchi, the capital of Jharkhand. Securing the first position in this national level competition was the result of his extraordinary technical skills and hard work. After this achievement, recognizing his services, he was promoted from constable to head constable.
In the year 2023 also, honoring his excellent services, he was awarded the DGP Disc and Cyber Investigator Badge. These achievements not only made him stand out in the police department but he also emerged as a source of inspiration for the youth of the state. Ritish credits his success to God and the blessings of the elder members of the family. He says that the inspiration of the family and the guidance of senior officers always gave him the strength to move forward.
