Voters anger will backlash against BJP on June 1st: CM
Addressing a massive public meeting in Nahan, Sirmaur district, Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu accused the BJP of attempting to buy the people’s right to vote. He stated that, after the long struggle for independence, the Congress Party had granted this right of vote to the countrymen, but now the BJP seeks to garb power the through money power. He urged the public to teach the BJP a lesson on June 1st, as this election is important in determining the future of the state’s politics. He said that only the people can defeat the power of money.
Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu said “the election is a battle between honesty and dishonesty, truth and falsehood, and righteousness and unrighteousness, but honesty and truth will ultimately prevail.” He accused the BJP of resorting to grab power through money power and said that BJP had bought six MLAs when they could not win power through votes.
Addressing senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi as “my leader,” Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu said that the Congress government has faithfully followed his directives. The Chief Minister praised Rahul Gandhi, noting his lineage as the son and grandson of Prime Ministers, and commended his 4500 km Bharat Jodo Yatra for promoting the country’s unity and integrity.
He expressed gratitude for the opportunity Rahul Gandhi provided him, a person from a common family, to become the Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh. “The state government’s commitment to ensuring that government schemes reach the most marginalized individuals in society, while also advocating for youth employment and respect for women, following the directives of Rahul Gandhi” he said.
Chief Minister said that under the current Congress government, old pension scheme have been reinstated for 1.36 lakh government employees. Women receive a pension of Rs 1500, amounting to Rs 18000 annually. Additionally, the government provides free education to the children of widows up to 27 years of age and covers the entire cost of care and education for orphaned children. He asked if these actions could be considered a crime ?
