Chief Minister announces sub-tehsil at Saho and RG Day Boarding School at Udaipur in Chamba
Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu announced Rs. 20 lakh for multi-storey parking, mini secretariat, indoor stadium in Chamba city, Rajiv Gandhi Day-Boarding School in Gram Panchayat Udaipur, beautification of Chamba Chaugan, Rs. 13 crore for Chamba Heliport, sub-tehsil at Saho, sub-division of Jal Shakti Department in Saho, Rs. 15 lakh for sports ground in Saho, Ayurvedic dispensary in Udaipur, Primary Health Centre in Chulihara and introducing plumber and fitters trades in ITI Chamba during his visit to Chamba today. He also announced up-grading of all the schools as demanded by local MLA Neeraj Nayyar.
While addressing a huge gathering at Chamba Chaugan, the Chief Minister while lashing out at the BJP said that the modus operandi of the BJP to snatch power is not going to succeed as the people of the State has given clear mandate to the present congress government in the State. While speaking on the rebel MLAs, the Chief Minister questioned as who all were financing their stay in a five star hotel in Panchkula and the posh resorts in Rishikesh in Uttrakhand. The BJP was managing all this with help of their central leadership and it seems that the rebel MLAs have surrendered to them, he asserted. “The truth will prevail at last, the people of the State can’t be cheated by shifting loyalties and the people will never forgive the politics of horse-trading” he remarked. “BJP tried to destabilize the government by money power, but as long as I am there, every door of corrupt practices will be closed, he asserted.
“I have risen from an ordinary family to be here as you all see me today. To be sincere, I have no greed for power rather my sole intention is to serve the last person standing in the queue, to work for the welfare of every section of the society, particularly those who have no one to look after” stated the Chief Minister.
Provisions were made in the Budget for every section of the society. It is an agrarian budget, a budget for women, children, youth and farmers. It is a budget for making Himachal self reliant, It is a budget to uplift the poor and the downtrodden. Every sector was taken care of in the Budget, said the Chief Minister. Counting the budget initiatives, the Chief Minister said that the Government has increased the wages of MNREGA workers by Rs 60, procurement price of cow milk has been increased from Rs 32 to Rs 45 and buffalo milk has been increased to Rs 55 thereby Himachal becoming the first state in the country to give support price on milk. There is a provision to bear the cost of treatment of elderly people above 70 years of age in the Budget. Indira Gandhi Pyari Behna Sukh Samman Nidhi Yojana has been started to provide Rs 1500 per month to women above 18 years of age. Besides, many other provisions have been made for all, he remarked. He also counted other measures for welfare of the people.
He said that the State Government has provided Rs 180 crore for Chamba Medical College, so that better health facilities could be provided to the people of the area.
Earlier, MLA Neeraj Nayyar welcomed the Chief Minister Thakur on his arrival in Chamba and gave a rousing reception at the historic Chaugan. He expressed gratitude to the Chief Minister for inaugurating and laying the foundation stones of developmental projects worth Rs 275 crore. He termed Sh. Sukhu as a warrior and affirmed that the people of Chamba district stand firmly with him.
He said that the state government is giving priority to the development of Chamba district. He also thanked the Chief Minister for providing substantial amount of four crore for preparing DPR of Chamba-Chowari Tunnel.
Vice Chairman State Planning Board, Bhawani Singh Pathania, MLA Sudarshan Bablu, former ministers Asha Kumari and Thakur Singh Bharmouri, former MLA Surender Bhardwaj, Working Congress President District Chamba Kamal Thakur, Member (BoD) HRTC Surjit Singh Bharmouri, Congress leader Yashwant Khanna, were also present on the occasion amongst others.
