Chamba
After dispatching 5 trucks carrying relief material from Nurpur to Chamba district, State President Dr. Rajiv Bindal, Leader of Opposition and former Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur left for visiting the affected areas of Chamba. Firstly, after taking stock of the damage caused in Bhatiyat Assembly Constituency, meeting the affected families, and distributing relief material, they reached Dalhousie Assembly Constituency. During this, they saw the complete damage caused to houses due to the natural disaster at many places and also saw the places where the land has been washed away or is sinking, on which it is not possible to build a house again. During this, Rajya Sabha MP Harsh Mahajan, MLA Vipin Singh Parmar, former MLA Vikram Jaryal were with them.
Dr Bindal said that after this he visited the Dalhousie assembly constituency. He met the displaced families and distributed relief material. During this time, local MLA D.S. Thakur was present with him. After that, he visited Churah assembly constituency along with Churah MLA Dr. Hansraj. The tragedy that he witnessed throughout the day is very painful.
Dr. Bindal said that at 9 am, Rajya Sabha MP Harsh Mahajan, MLA Vipin Singh Parmar, MLA Hansraj, MLA D.S. Thakur, and MLA Dr. Janakraj along with former MLA Pawan Nayar visited the affected areas of Chamba Assembly and distributed relief material to the affected people.
Dr. Bindal said that thousands of houses in Chamba district have been completely and partially damaged. Thousands of acres of land have been destroyed and there is no road that has not been affected. He said that the first responsibility of the government is to speed up the relief work and restore roads, drinking water schemes, and electricity supply as soon as possible.
Bindal said that numerous relief materials were distributed to the affected people in Chamba district by the workers of the Bharatiya Janata Party. Now relief materials are being sent to Himachal Pradesh not only from the state but also from other states, due to which the flood-affected people are getting a lot of relief.
