Mandi
Revenue Minister Jagat Singh Negi’s visit has turned contentious following the Mandi district disaster. Black flags and cries of “go back” were used by Seraj BJP members in Janjheli to protest the minister’s presence on Friday. BJP leaders said that people are upset with the minister’s presence and accused him of making offensive remarks. Following the Janjheli visit, a group of Seraj BJP members encircled the rest house as soon as the minister arrived at Vishram Grih Thunag to meet with authorities.
The protesting BJP activists were repeatedly told not to do so by SP and DSP Karsog on the scene. The group of BJP workers who were protesting was then summoned inside the rest house and asked to present their case. Regarding this, the Revenue Minister promised that a meeting with the Shimla officials will clarify the problem.
Bhishma Thakur, the president of the Janjheli Mandal BJP, led the whole demonstration. According to Bhishma Thakur, the Revenue Minister is coming here 26 days after the tragedy, but Seraj received support and condolences from everyone throughout the crisis. The people of Seraj do not require a minister like Jagat Singh Negi, he claimed, since he adds salt to the wounds of others, which is completely wrong.
People are upset about the government’s plan to move the Horticulture College from Thunag, according to Bhishma Thakur, and the Revenue Minister is attempting to destroy Seraj. The Panchayati Raj Department’s Training Center in Thunag is being planned to be moved, according to Bhishma. The Seraj BJP will not put up with this at all, even if it means going to court to defend their rights. Rajni Thakur, Khem Dasi, Kamal Rana, and Guljari Thakur were among those in attendance.
