The importance of blood donation can never be dial down. Its importance has increased in the corona epoch as corona is once again rapidly spreading. School of media and mass communication of APG Shimla University, in collaboration with Blood-Connect Foundation, conducted online webinar on the importance of blood donation and awareness among the masses. The blood donation expert Supriya Sharma, from Blood-Connect Foundation, remained the key expert speaker during the webinar, while APG varsity Vice-chancellor prof. Dr. Ramesh Chauhan attended the program as a distinguished guest. “Blood donation is not called ‘Mahadan’ or paramount service nor can a doctor develop it in the human body as it is a gift of God. The advantage of this is that the number of times you donate blood, it free of charge, it gets reintroduced from our food in the body, but there is still lack of awareness and proper counseling about donating blood”, Vice-chancellor Prof. Dr. Ramesh Chauhan added during the occasion. Chauhan added more that many patients succumb to their lives as blood banks in hospitals go dry due to the shortage of blood donors. Chauhan said that healthy people and youngsters should go forward for the sake of helpless mankind such serious patients, thailesimiya stricken kids, injured people, etc. and rescue their lives. Key speaker Supriya addressed the students and teachers of APG varsity that through awareness and proper counseling of the masses, the shortage of blood can be tided over.
Supriya suggested about healthy blood donation tips to the students and teachers as well through a PPT in her lecture on blood donation awareness. She also cleared the misconceptions and qualm of the students about donating blood through her expertise PPT and lecture on blood donation and also made the students well informed and updated on blood donation for rescue the needy and mankind as well. Registrar Dr. Anil Kumar Pal, dean academics Dr. Kuldeep Kumar, Prof. Dr. Lokesh Chandel, Prof. Arun Choudhary, chairpersons of APG Shimla varsity also remained present during the occasion.
