Mandi/ Hamirpur
A case of death under suspicious circumstances has come to light in Gahar Panchayat of Sarkaghat subdivision of the district. The 31-year-old deceased youth, a resident of Hamirpur, was posted as a secretary in the Kadohta Panchayat office under Bhoranj development block of Hamirpur. The deceased youth had been missing since Thursday. The family had also lodged a missing report at Jahu police station.
The family and the police were engaged in searching for the youth. The family had also gathered information from the youth’s friends and relatives at their level, but no clue was found. On Friday morning at 4 am, near Ghandhu Nala on Fatehpur to Chandaish Road, local people saw a youth lying unconscious on the roadside, after which people informed the Sarkaghat police about it. After receiving the information, when the police reached the spot, they found on the spot that the youth was not breathing. After that, when the police team turned the youth upside down, the smell of sulphas tube was coming from his mouth. The police found that the youth had died, after which the police took the body into custody for further action.
The actual reason for the death of the youth will be revealed only after the postmortem report comes, but why did the youth eat poisonous substances is a big question. DSP Sarkaghat Sanjeev Gautam said, ‘The police have handed over the body to the family after conducting the postmortem at the Civil Hospital Sarkaghat. The youth has been identified as Arun Kumar of village and post office Jahu, Tehsil Bhoranj District Hamirpur. Initially, the police have registered a case of suicide and started further investigation’.
