Shoolini University’s Belletristic – Shoolini loves Literature Society launched yet another literary anthology on the theme of Covid-19 titled, “Looking at the Lockdown: Stories by Young Adults.” The book is a compilation of lockdown stories written by young adults between the ages of 15 to 21.
The anthology is the result of a creative writing competition, organised by the Department of English, which saw close to 30 entries out of which the best 13 were shortlisted, compiled, and edited for publication by the Assistant Professors from the Department of English, Purnima Bali, Neeraj Pizar, and Sakshi Sundaram.
The session was chaired by Prof Suneeta Patnayak, an eminent scholar and creative writer from Chandigarh. The winners Amanat from Shimla and Ananya from UAE shared their winning contributions with the audience.

Reviewer Kirti Sachdeva, Faculty, Gautam Buddha University also shared her views on the anthology and congratulated all the 13 contributors for Book in a positive, inclusive and uplifting manner. The contributors hail from different parts of the country includes Aastha Bhaik, Amanat Chauhan, Ananya Khosla, Ananya Mahajan, Apoorva Mamgain, Gurleen Kaur Dhillon, Gurnoor Kaur Dhaliwal, Ishani Ghosh, Navkiran Kaur Gill, Noor Uzma, Prabhneet Kaur Sangha, Smayra Mittan, and Sukhmanpreet Kaur Gill.
Prof. Suneeta Patnayak congratulated all the contributors for the use of imaginary, catharsis, metaphors, symbolism in their stories at this young age and also appreciated their effortless story-telling power.
Prof. Manju Jaidka concluded the session with the announcement for the next Belletristic Friday event which will focus on Nobel Laureate Louise Glück.
