Shoolini University’s Centre of Excellence for Language Learning (CELL) of the Chitrakoot School of Liberal Arts, in collaboration with the LitWitz Club, organised an inspiring book talk on Ayn Rand’s popular novel, The Fountainhead, at Shoolini University.
The session was led by Advocate Shalini Sharma, she discussed the novel’s core themes – individualism, ambition, and the unwavering vision of the protagonist, Howard Roark in detail.
The event began with Ayeshi, head of the LitWitz Club, who introduced the guest speaker. Advocate Sharma engaged participants in a thoughtful discussion on Roark’s struggle against societal norms and his commitment to architectural integrity, sparking lively debates on the tension between creativity and conformity.
The highlight of the session was the interactive Question-Answer session, moderated by Dr. Navreet Sahi and Prof. Nasser Dashtpeyma, which allowed students and faculty to express their insights on Rand’s ideals of self-reliance and the pursuit of personal purpose.
Dr. Purnima Bali, Head of the Chitrakoot School of Liberal Arts, expressed gratitude to the speaker, participants, and the organising team. She further stated that discussions of great literary works continue to inspire the university community.
