Chamba
A dozen villages in the Bharmour constituency’s Baloth and Khundel Gram Panchayats have been shut off from the rest of the nation as a result of makeshift bridges collapsing in various locations due to rain. This hill is causing landslides, which have isolated almost a dozen settlements from the rest of the nation. Although landslides have frequently caused losses to people, they have recently taken control of around fifty homes. No one took notice of this, despite repeated notifications to the administration, local leaders, and government.
According to Panchayat Pradhan Dev Raj, landslides have been occurring here on a regular basis for a number of years. People from four houses in a community have now been relocated to a different secure location due to the current circumstances. All rural roads, including the Public Works Department road, drinking water pipes, and electricity poles, have also sustained damage. About a dozen villages, including Kalas and Ahalmi, are now totally isolated from the rest of the nation as a result of the culvert being swept away in the drain. A bull perished at the same moment as a result of stones falling. The communities’ six roads are in total ruin, making it impossible for the inhabitants to travel to the stores to obtain their rations or for the children to attend school.
He said that till when will people have to sleep at night risking their lives. Expressing grief, he said that like Siraj of Mandi district, if there is loss of life and property here, then the administration and the government will take any action. He has urged the government and the administration to take immediate cognizance of this matter.
On the other hand, due to the complete damage of the Rakh Gurada connecting road, the road connectivity of the entire panchayat including the Samra area with the district headquarters has been cut off. In this landslide, there is no way left for the people to walk. In this landslide of about twenty meters long, only the crash barriers are left hanging, the stones falling from the landslide fell directly on the dam site of Chamera Phase II, which has suffered partial damage.
