10 February 2024, New Delhi/Himachal Pradesh
Former Union Minister and Member of Parliament from Hamirpur Lok Sabha constituency Shri Anurag Singh Thakur, while speaking in Parliament in the general discussion on Union Budget 2025-26, said that this budget is the roadmap for developed India, and it will take us from resolve to accomplishment.
Anurag Singh Thakur said, “Modi hai toh mumkin hai” (If Modi is there, then it is possible), and this has been proved once again when this time, zero tax up to Rs 12 lakh was made in this budget. Modi government has set a target to take all the poor out of poverty by 2047, provide 100% quality education, provide good health care to every person at low cost, provide skill development of workers and give them proper employment opportunities, encourage the participation of 70% women in economic activities, and make India the food basket of the world on the basis of the hard work of our farmers. Opposition has nothing to do with the poor and middle class, and they are just playing their worn-out old tape recorder.”
Anurag Singh Thakur said, “During UPA there was scam India, and today the world is seeing the bright picture of capable India during Modi Ji’s tenure. During Congress time, the budget was for family welfare, but in our time, the budget for national welfare is released. The development measures proposed in this budget are in 10 broad areas, in which focus has been given on poor, youth, farmers, and women. We have Mission Shakti assisted 10.61 lakh women through One Stop Centres, Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP) increased Sex Ratio at Birth (SRB) from 918 (2014-15) to 930 (2023-24), Gross Enrollment Ratio (GER) of girls in secondary schools increased from 75.51% to 78% (2014-2024), Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana (PMMY) funding increased from ₹1,478.73 crore (2021-22) to ₹1,814.86 crore (2023-24), Maternal Mortality Rate (MMR) reduced from 130 per lakh live births (2014-16) to 97 (2018-20), Mission Saksham Anganwadi and Poshan 2.0 benefited 9.88 crore women across India.
Anurag Singh Thakur said “The NDA government has provided 1.5 times more government jobs to the youth in the last 10 years than what the UPA government did in a decade of its rule. 256,405 appointments were made under the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) during the UPA regime, while 511,775 appointments have been made under the present BJP government. 492,605 appointments were made under the Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) in the last 10 years, while 411,624 appointments were made during the ten-year tenure of the previous government. The share of women in new appointments in job fairs has increased to 18-20% as compared to 7-8% share in appointments made by the previous government. In terms of appointments made against backlog vacancies earmarked for SCs/STs/OBCs, there has been an estimated 150 percent increase in the last 10 years. 293,475 appointments have been made under NDA as compared to 108,034 such appointments made by UPA.
“In agriculture sector, 94% of the digitization targets have already been achieved across the country under Digital India Land Records Modernization Programme (DILRMP). Under PMKSY, 47.46% irrigation projects have been completed. Pradhan Mantri Kisan Maandhan Yojana (PMKMY) was launched to help small and marginal farmers above 60 years of age, in which more than 1.9 million farmers have been registered so far”, said Shri Anurag Singh Thakur.
