CM Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu will inaugurate it at IGMC
The new building of cancer hospital at Indira Gandhi Medical College and Hospital will be inaugurated by Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu on Monday.
This building was ready a few months ago, but the inauguration is happening now. During this time, the Chief Minister can also make a new announcement regarding IGMC.
Cancer patients will be treated in a modern way . A CT stimulator machine for cancer patients and a linac machine have been installed on the ground floor.
After installing the CT stimulator machine, doctors will be able to easily scan the part of the body where cancer has occurred. Apart from this, the risk of radiation from the machines will also be less. Patients coming to get treatment at the cancer hospital of IGMC will now get better facilities. Along with this, the facility of OPD and ward will also start being available to the patients soon.
The new five-storey building of cancer hospital, there will be five OPDs for patients on the top floor. Apart from this, there is a separate OPD facility for the patients along with the road and 20-bed ward has also been constructed for men and women, in which 10 beds are for men and 10 for women. This will also end the problem of patients not getting beds till now.
At present, in the building where OPD is running, patients have to face a lot of trouble due to lack of space. But now better facilities will be given to the patients coming to the cancer hospital.
