A meeting was held today under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Mukesh Repaswal regarding the successful organization of Chamba Literature Festival.
Presiding over the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner informed that the Chamba Literature Festival will be held from March 12 to 14. He informed that the festival will be held at the Postgraduate College, Chamba campus and will be attended by renowned poets, litterateurs and scholars.
The Deputy Commissioner said that a book fair will also be organised during the festival, in which books related to the art and culture of Himachal Pradesh and other excellent literary works will be displayed.
He also informed that exhibitions will be presented by various self-help groups and Asha workers in the college campus, which will promote local products and women empowerment.
With an aim to promote the rich culture of the district, colourful cultural programmes will also be presented by local renowned artists during the festival.
The Deputy Commissioner said that various literary and cultural sessions will be organised during the three-day festival, which will include Katha session, Kavi Utsav, Ghazal evening, music and poetry presentation, panel discussion, theatre artist performance, Kavi Sammelan and dialogue session.
During the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner also gave necessary guidelines to the District Tourism Development Officer and District Language Officer for the successful organization of the festival.
Additional District Magistrate Amit Mehra, District Tourism Development Officer Rajiv Mishra, District Employment Officer Arvind Singh Chauhan, District Language Officer Tukesh Sharma and Economist Project Vinod Kumar were present in the meeting.
