Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur performed inaugurations and foundation stones of 39 developmental projects worth about Rs. 370 crore at Jogindernagar Mela Ground for Jogindernagar Assembly Constituency of Mandi district today.
Chief Minister, while addressing the largely attended public meeting at Jogindernagar as part of ‘Pragatisheel Himachal: Sathapna Ke 75 Varsh’ programme, said that the State Government has been organizing these events in an attempt to express its gratitude to the people of the State for their support and cooperation during the 75 years glorious journey of Himachal Pradesh. He said that people of every section of the society had made immense support and cooperation in making Himachal Pradesh, where it stands today. He said that there were only 4 districts when the State came into existence on 15th April, 1948 with a population of little over 11 lakh, whereas today the State has a population of over 70 lakh. He said that the State had an area of 25,839 sq. kms at that time whereas today the State has a total area of 55,673 sq. kms. He said that today the literacy rate of the State was over 83 per cent, as compared to a literacy rate of 4.8 per cent in 1948. He said that the State has made immense progress in the field of health, education, horticulture, tourism and allied sectors.
Jai Ram Thakur said that although the State Government was about to complete five years in office, but actually it got only three years to work as the whole world, the country and the State had to face hard times due to Corona pandemic. He said that with the wholehearted support of the people, the State was able to control the situation and also simultaneously ensured to maintain the pace of development. He said that the State Government was getting full support from the Centre Government in the matter of development.
Chief Minister said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has a special attachment towards Himachal Pradesh and under his leadership the State has got projects worth thousands of crores, adding that it was due to the benevolence of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi that the 90:10 ratio for funding of Central projects was restored. He said that the Prime Minister has visited the State seven times till date and would be visiting the State three more times within a month. He said that this shows the love and connect the Prime Minister had with the State and its people. He said that a special financial assistance of Rs. 800 crore was also provided to the State to accelerate the pace of development and during his Mandi visit on completion of four years of the present State Government dedicated developmental projects worth Rs. 10,000 crore for the State. He said that AIIMS, IIM, IIIT, Central University, PGI Satellite Center were sanctioned for the State by the BJP Government at Centre. He said that a Bulk Drug Pharma Park has been sanctioned for the State by the Prime Minister which would attract investment of over Rs. 50,000 crore and provide employment to over 30,000 youth.
Jai Ram Thakur said that opposition leaders get perturbed by the slogan of the State Government regarding ‘Changing the tradition’ of not repeating the Government in the State. He said that people of the State have made up their mind and would surely ensure ‘Mission Repeat’ in the State like other States of the country. He said that the present State Government was spending Rs. 1300 crore on providing social security pension as compared to Rs. 400 crore spent by the previous government. He said that schemes such as Shagun Yojna, Sahara Yojna, Grihini Suvidha Yojna, 50 percent concession to women in bus fare, 125 units free power were that have helped the people of the State in a big way. He said that all this was possible due to a Government headed by a leader coming from a humble background as he understands the developmental aspirations of the poor and the downtrodden. He urged the people of the State to give their wholehearted support to the present State Government so that the pace of development goes at a steady pace.
Chief Minister announced upgradation of Government High School Paplotu to Government Senior Secondary School, upgradation of Government Middle School Jimjima to Government High School, starting of Science classes in Government Senior Secondary School Tullah, opening of patwar circle in Gram Panchayat Dhar and PHC in Gram Panchayat Gumma. He also announced Rs. 15 lakh for development of Mela Ground Jogindernagar.
Jai Ram Thakur said that the lease period of the Shanan power project with the Punjab Government would be ending by next year and it would be handed over to the Himachal Pradesh Government.
Earlier, Chief Minister inaugurated Rs. 1.15 crore Science Lab in Government Senior Secondary School (Girls) Jogindernagar, Rs. 7 crore building of Government Degree College Lad Bharol (Phase-I), Rs. 1.75 crore canteen block for Rajeev Gandhi Memorial Government Degree College Jogindernagar, Rs. 30 lakh Mukhya Mantri Lok Bhawan at Chauntra, Rs. 24.50 crore bridge over Beas river at Sandha, Rs. 90 lakh bridge over Kolang Khad-II, Rs. 35 lakh bridge over Koang khad-I, Rs. 12.85 crore upgradation of Dhelu to Bhatehar road, Rs. 3.07 crore upgradation of Ahju to Suja road, Rs. 6.02 crore Galu to Bhatwar road and Rs. 2.79 crore upgradation of Chakka to Jhamehar road. He also performed opening ceremonies of new PWD Sub Division at Makriri under Jogindernagar Division and PHC Pipli besides upgradation of 30 bedded CHC Lad Bharol to 50 bedded Civil Hospital and upgradation of PHC Chauntra to CHC Chauntra.
Jai Ram Thakur laid foundation stones of Rs. 6.37 crore Bhala Ka Rihra Kut Khetru Namelari Gangoti road, Rs. 6.32 crore metalling and tarring of Jalar Kochu Ropri Dughli road, Rs. 4.77 crore Kuni Katkal Bhalara Rains road, Rs. 2.71 crore balance work including metalling and tarring on Raktal Changerh Bangota Chakrod Khaddar road, Rs. 4.18 crore Simas to Gwaila road, Rs. 4.75 crore construction and metalling & tarring of Pandol Patnu road, Rs. 5.10 crore balance work including metalling and tarring on Kamehar Ropi Chho Samoun road, Rs. 2 crore providing of FHTC and sustainability of source of WSS Tansal, Karsa, Bag in tehsil Ladbharol, Rs. 12.99 crore WSS to GP Buhla Bharyara, Pipli, Drubbal and Drahal in tehsil Jogindernagar, Rs. 6.52 crore source strengthening of JJM Scheme under Sub Division Chauntra and Rs. 73.30 crore lift irrigation scheme to village main Bharola, Takkri, Dohag, Sainthal, Chauntra areas etc. in tehsil Jogindernagar.
Chief Minister also performed foundation stones of Rs. 66.52 crore LIS in Jogindernagar constituency for Ladbharol area, Rs. 7.45 crore flood protection work on river Beas near village Kotla tehsil Jogindernagar, Rs.7.48 crore flood protection work on river Beas near village Kothi tehsil Jogindernagar, Rs. 7.46 crore flood protection work on river Beas near area of Ladbharol and Langna tehsil Lad Bharol, Rs. 25.85 crore LWSS Neri Chimnu, Langna, LWSS Kanarg, Fagla, WSS Kathoun, Panjalag, WSS Khudi Rass, WSS Dugh, Todal, Gadyara, WSS Khadihar and WSS Chatarbhuja Basahi in tehsil Jogindernagar, Rs. 1.66 crore veterinary hospital Ladbharol, Rs. 1.98 crore Hatchery building at Poultry Farm Chauntra, Rs. 2 crore Gosadan at Kud Mahadev, Rs. 10 lakh Press Club Jogindernagar, Rs. 50 crore Atal Aadarsh Vidyalaya at Panjalag Jogindernagar, Rs. 5.69 crore Multipurpose Sports Stadium at Chauntra, Rs. 54 lakh Forest Rest House, Dhelu and HRTC Workshop at Dohag.
Chief Minister was accorded a rousing welcome on his arrival at Jogindernagar. Various social and political organizations also honoured the Chief Minister on the occasion.
Local MLA Prakash Rana, while welcoming the Chief Minister, said that it was an historic day for the people of the Jogindernagar as the Chief Minister has today inaugurated and laid foundation stones of developmental projects worth about Rs. 370 crore for the constituency. He said that the Chief Minister had always accorded top most priority to ensure that the pace of development goes uninterrupted in all areas of the State. He said that IPH division was provided to the area by the Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur which has ensured better water supply to the area. He also detailed various developmental projects being executed in the constituency. He also accused the previous State Government for ignoring the constituency in matter of development.
Former Speaker, Minister and senior BJP leader Thakur Gulab Singh welcomed the Chief Minister and said that a new history would be created this time in the State and BJP would again form Government in the State under the leadership of Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur. He said that almost all the sections of the society had been benefitted by the welfare schemes launched by the State Government. He also thanked the Chief Minister for providing 50 per cent concession in bus fare in HRTC buses to women in the State besides 125 units free power to the domestic consumers of the State. He also detailed a few developmental demands of the area.
Chairman Gau Sewa Aayog Ashok Sharma, General Secretary BJP Ajay Saklani, Deputy Commissioner Mandi Arindam Chaudhary, Superintendent of Police Shalini Agnihotri were present on the occasion among others.
