Government committed to holistic development of children: SJE Minister
The three-day ‘Children of the State Sports and Cultural Meet’-2025 concluded on Sunday evening with a grand closing ceremony presided over by the Minister of Social Justice and Empowerment, Dr. (Col) Dhani Ram Shandil.
The Minister appreciated the children’s enthusiasm, talent, confidence, and outstanding performances in various events. He said the meet truly celebrated the children’s dreams, courage, and positive spirit. He reiterated that every child, regardless of family background, deserves equal opportunity and dignity.
He stated that the State Government accords high priority to the protection, education, training, and holistic development of children. All child care institutions across the state are being strengthened with robust safety measures and improved facilities in health, education, skill development, sports, and cultural activities. These efforts aim to ensure that children become self-reliant, capable, and empowered to fulfil their aspirations.
Dr. Shandil emphasized that the government’s vision is clear: every child should become self-dependent and confident enough to realize their dreams. The government is committed to opening new avenues and opportunities for children. Continuous initiatives are underway to provide them with a safe environment, quality education, modern amenities, healthcare, and platforms to excel in sports and cultural fields.
The event was attended by the Deputy Mayor of Shimla Municipal Corporation, Uma Kaushal, the Director of, Women and Child Development department Dr. Pankaj Lalit, members of the Child Welfare Committee, officers, and other dignitaries.
