The Centre for Human Resource Development along with the Internal Quality Assurance Cell, Himachal Pradesh National Law University, Shimla organised a One Day National Seminar on Changing Dimensions of Higher Education: A New Vision , sponsored by the Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR at the prestigious Himachal Pradesh National Law University, Shimla. The Seminar was organized under the leadership of Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Nishtha Jaswal at the University campus today on 4th June.
The seminar aimed to delve into the evolving landscape of higher education and explore novel perspectives and strategies to address the changing dynamics of this crucial sector. This event served as a platform for experts, scholars, and stakeholders to engage in productive discussions and contribute to the vision of a redefined higher education system.
The program was initiated with the inaugural address by Prof. (Dr.) Nishtha Jaswal, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Himachal Pradesh National Law University, Shimla, who highlighted the significance of adapting to the changing dimensions of higher education. Prof. (Dr.) Paramjit S.Jaswal, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, SRM University, Haryana Delhi-NCR, Sonepat in his presiding remarks, emphasized the need for collaboration and innovation to drive positive transformation in the field. The keynote speaker, Prof. (Dr.) Sandeep Sancheti, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor (Provost), Marwadi University, Rajkot shared his extensive knowledge and insights, shedding light on emerging trends and advancements in higher education. His address provided a thought-provoking perspective on the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead. The seminar was graced by the esteemed presence of the Chief Guest, Prof. (Dr.) Ranbir Singh, Pro-Chancellor, IILM Law School, IILM University, Gurugram, Haryana, who delivered an inspiring address. Prof. Singh shared his vision for a reimagined higher education system that fosters excellence, inclusivity, and holistic development. Concluding the session, Prof. (Dr.) S.S. Jaswal, Director, IQAC, Himachal Pradesh National Law University, Shimla, expressed heartfelt gratitude to all the attendees, distinguished speakers, and organizing committee members. He emphasized the importance of collaborative efforts and continuous learning in shaping the future of higher education.
Three technical sessions were held for the seminar which were chaired by esteemed chairpersons. The first technical session held on Integrating ICT and New Technologies into Teaching – Learning Pedagogy was chaired by Dr. Kamal Kishore, Assistant Professor, Department of Bio- Statistics, PGIMER, Chandigarh. The second technical session held On Predicting the Scope of National Education Policy, 2020 was chaired by Prof.(Dr.) Sanjay Sindhu, Chairman, Department of Law, HPU, Shimla and the third technical session on Work Culture and Work-Life Balance was chaired by (Dr.) Rajeev Bansal, Joint Director, HIPA.
The seminar on ‘Changing Dimensions of Higher Education: A New Vision, promised to be an Enriching experience for all the participants, by providing a platform for meaningful dialogue, exchange of ideas, and fostering future collaborations. The seminar was organized by Conference Convener Dr. Deepika Gautam, Dr. Esha Bhagra and Dr. Praveen Kumar.
