Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur inaugurated and laid foundation stones of developmental projects worth about Rs. 73 crore in Tikkar area of Jubbal-Kotkhai Vidhan Sabha area of Shimla district through video conferencing from Shimla.
Jai Ram Thakur dedicated water supply scheme from Nirgi to Khesheni tehsil Tikkar constructed at a cost of Rs. 20.33 lakh. He also inaugurated Tehsil Office Tikkar.
Chief Minister laid foundation stones of lift water supply scheme from Pabbar river to left out houses of various Gram Panchayats of Kotkhai, Nawar Rohru block to be constructed at a cost of Rs. 24.87 crore under Jal Jivan Mission, GWSS to left out houses of Gram Panchayat Tikkar to be built at a cost Rs. 3.67 crore under Jal Jeevan Mission, GWSS to cover left out houses of Gram Panchayat Pujarli No. 4, Dharada, Hastadi-Samara and Tikkar to be constructed at a cost of Rs. 3.41crore under Jal Jeevan Mission, LWSS/GWSS to left out houses of Gram Panchayat Kuthadi, Kadivan, Dharara, Sharauntha and Tikkar to be made functional at a cost of Rs. 4.23 crore under Jal Jeevan Mission.
Jai Ram Thakur also performed foundation stone laying ceremonies of upgradation of Ganganagar-Khangta road and upgradation of Mehandli-Ghanasidhar road to be completed at a cost of Rs. 15.62 crore and Rs. 14.28 crore respectively. He also laid foundation stones of Police Chowki Tikkar and residential building to be constructed at cost of Rs. 1.60 crore and Rs. 5.25 crore grading and packing centre Tutupani Tehsil Tikkar.
Chief Minister said that he has dedicated developmental projects worth Rs 150 crore to the people of Jubbal and Nawar area of Jubbal-Kotkhai Vidhan Sabha area. He said that the grading and packing centre being established at Tutupani would facilitate the horticulturists of the area by providing them latest grading and packaging facilities at the door steps. He said that the lift water supply schemes under Jal Jeevan Mission would go a long way in providing tapped drinking water to people of Nawar area.
Jai Ram Thakur said that the State Government has made elaborate arrangements to ensure smooth transportation and marketing of apple. He said that the State Government has also made arrangements for labour not only from Nepal but also from other districts such as Sirmaur, Mandi and Chamba etc. He said that the Government also provided immediate assistance of Rs. 2.04 crore to the residents of Kashani village of Nawar area which was completely gutted few months ago.
Chief Minister directed the officers to ensure time bound completion of all projects, of which the foundation stones was laid by him, so that benefits of these could be provided to the people at the earliest.
Chief Whip and local MLA Narender Bragta while welcoming the Chief Minister thanked him for dedicating developmental projects worth crores of rupees for the area. He said that despite the corona pandemic, the farmers were able to market their produce without any hindrance and the credit of this goes to Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur for his timely initiative.
He said that it was under the able leadership of Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur that State was fast emerging as developed State of the country.
Member of Parliament Shimla, Parliamentary Constituency Suresh Kashyap said that the tenure of present State Government has ensured unprecedented and equitable development of all areas of the State. He said that the double engine governments at Centre and State were laying special emphasis to initiate various welfare schemes for the benefit of the people.
