Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu in a review meeting of the Revenue Department here today, directed to start a special campaign to settle all pending revenue cases. He said that pending cases were being settled through Revenue Lok Adalats and there was a need to speed it up further. He said that people should get relief from visiting government offices time and again and the revenue officers should pay special attention to this.
Shri Sukhu said that the government was committed to providing facilities to the people at their door-step and it was very important to settle pending revenue cases. He directed all Divisional Commissioners and Deputy Commissioners to settle all pending cases of correction by October 31, 2024.
He said asked all the Deputy Commissioners to deploy a nodal officer in their respective districts to review the pending revenue matters and send its report to the government so that the pending cases could be settled well within the time. He said that for the settlement of revenue matters, the Deputy Commissioners had been given powers to fill the vacant posts up to Naib Tehsildar for which adequate budget would be made available. He said that he would review the matter again in the month of November.
The Chief Minister also reviewed the performance of relief works for the victims of last year’s disaster. He said that the present state government had released Rs 4500 crore as a special relief package for the disaster affected and ensure full help to the affected families from this amount.
Revenue Minister Jagat Singh Negi, Additional Chief Secretary Onkar Chand Sharma, Secretary to the Chief Minister Rakesh Kanwar, OSD to the Chief Minister Gopal Sharma, Settlement Officer Aditya Negi and other senior officers were present in the meeting while all the Deputy Commissioners joined the meeting virtually.
