Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur has hailed the decisions of Union Cabinet for approving major economic support measures for Micro Small Medium Enterprises (MSME), farmers, agricultural sector employees and street vendors.
The Chief Minister said that the road map prepared by the Union Cabinet for implementation of decisions for the MSME sector under Atmanirbhar Bharat package is laudable as this is bound to revive the economic activities, which suffered due to coronavirus, as 95 percent unit in Himachal Pradesh fall under this sector. He said that the Union Government in its decision allowed Rs. 50 thousand crore equity investment in MSMEs.
He said that Union Cabinet has also approved modalities and road map for implementing to packages for MSMEs.
He said that the Union Cabinet also relaxed norms for loans to farmers under Kisan Credit Card scheme and farmers who will repay their loans timely till August 31st will get a four percent waiver on their loans which would prove beneficial to the farmers of the State.
Jai Ram Thakur said that the investment limit on plant and machinery has also been increased and has hiked paddy MSP by Rs. 53 per quintal thereby enhancing it to Rs. 1,868 per quintal for the 2020-21 crop year. He has also appreciated the decision for approving MSP for 14 Kharif crops.
These measures would benefit the workers and the industrialist a lot besides benefiting the farmers, he added.
