Nahan, August 02. Under the leadership of Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu, the government is implementing many public welfare and welfare schemes for the people of the state.
In this regard, the state government has made a provision to provide a grant of 1 lakh 50 thousand rupees for house construction under the Chief Minister Housing Scheme to the families living below the poverty line. Chief Minister Housing Scheme is an ambitious scheme of the Himachal Pradesh government, whose aim is to provide permanent and safe houses to the poor, homeless, and economically weaker people living in kutcha houses. This scheme is especially important in view of being a hilly state, because due to the geographical conditions and heavy rain and snowfall here, living in kutcha houses is extremely difficult and unsafe.
Mukhyamantri Awas Yojana is becoming a new ray of hope for the needy. This scheme not only provides them with a concrete house but also brings a sense of security, respect, and self-reliance in their lives.
One such beneficiary, Malkit Kaur, 78 years old, wife of late Karam Chand, who is a resident of Bhungarni Panchayat, Paonta Sahib, district Sirmaur, said that her entire family used to live in a dilapidated kutcha house, whose walls used to break down after getting wet in the rain and water used to drip from the roof; cold winds of winter used to enter through the cracks in the house, and many times during the rainy season, they had to take shelter in the neighbor’s house at night.
She told that her son and husband used to support the family by working as labourers. She also has a daughter whom she has married. She told that about 12 years ago her son died suddenly, due to which the whole family was in disarray.
Malkit Kaur said that after the death of her son, her husband was the only one who could do labour work and with great difficulty, he could manage the household expenses. She said that in these circumstances, they could not even imagine having a house and were forced to live in an old dilapidated house.
Malkit Kaur said that her husband had also passed away a few days ago, but last year her husband had gone to the Gram Panchayat meeting, where the Panchayat Secretary informed everyone about the Chief Minister Housing Scheme and said that under this scheme, the state government provides financial assistance of Rs. 1 lakh 50 thousand to poor and economically weaker families for building permanent houses.
After which Malkit Kaur applied with the required documents for the amount to be received under the Chief Minister Housing Scheme, after which within a short time her name was included in the list of beneficiaries of the Chief Minister Housing Scheme and the state government provided her an amount of 1 lakh 50 thousand rupees in three installments. Apart from this, the facility of wages was also made available under MNREGA so that the construction work of the house could be completed soon.
Malkit Kaur said that along with the family circumstances, her financial condition was also so weak that she could not build a permanent house in her entire life, but with the financial assistance received through the Chief Minister Housing Scheme run by the state government, today she has been able to build a permanent home to live in. For which she has thanked Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu and the state government from the bottom of her heart.
