The Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh, Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, presented the highly anticipated annual budget for the financial year 2025-26 today. This budget, hailed as a landmark step towards the comprehensive development of the state, prioritizes social welfare and economic empowerment, aiming to uplift all sections of society, particularly the underprivileged and marginalized communities.
Reacting to the budget, the Chairman of the Himachal Pradesh Building and Other Construction Workers’ Welfare Board, Nardev Singh Kanwar, lauded it as a historic and visionary financial roadmap that reflects the commitment of the state government toward inclusive growth. He appreciated the progressive approach of the Chief Minister, emphasizing that the budget provides robust support to various vulnerable sections of society, including youths, senior citizens, single women, widows, farmers, orchardists, Mahila Mandals, and Yuva Mandals.
Kanwar highlighted that this budget demonstrates the government’s deep understanding of the pressing needs of different sections of society. He particularly praised its focus on youth empowerment, ensuring employment opportunities, skill development, and entrepreneurship promotion. Recognizing the importance of women’s participation in socio-economic development, he also appreciated the special provisions allocated for Mahila Mandals to enhance women’s financial independence and leadership roles.
For senior citizens, widows, and single women, the budget proposes substantial financial assistance, pension schemes, and livelihood support, ensuring their dignity and security. Kanwar also acknowledged the government’s commitment to farmers and orchardists, stating that increased allocations and policy initiatives in the budget will help strengthen the state’s agrarian economy, promote sustainable farming practices, and provide better market access to agricultural produce.
Expressing his gratitude towards Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, Kanwar reiterated that the budget is a testimony to the government’s people-centric governance and dedication to social justice. He affirmed that under this leadership, Himachal Pradesh is set on a progressive path, ensuring prosperity and welfare for all.
