Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur today presided over the First Cultural Night of seven day long International Renukaji Fair organised at Renu Manch in Renuka in District Sirmour today.
Chief Minister also released souvenir on the auspicious occasion of International Sri Renuka ji Fair brought out by the Mela Committee.
While addressing the people, Chief Minister announced opening of BDO office at Dadahu, opening of ITI at Dhartidhar and Bachar bag (Semdhar) and opening of veterinary dispensary at Dhartidhar. He also announced opening of HPSEB division at Sangrah and upgradation of Government High School (GHS) Bagthan to Government Senior Secondary School, upgradation of Government Middle School Sattar Bhadon to GHS and upgradation of two Government Primary Schools of the area to Government Middle School.
Jai Ram Thakur said that the International Renuka Fair is one of the most important fair of the State which depicts the union of Lord Parshuram with his mother Mata Renuka. He said that this fair was not only important from religious point of view but also a symbol of the rich cultural repository of the State.
Jai Ram Thakur said that the State was celebrating this year as the Golden Jubilee year of the Statehood. He said the State has achieved several milestones in all spheres of development. He said that the State has today not only emerged as a role model for the hilly states of the country but also an ideal for big states of the country. He also recalled the contributions of Dr Y.S. Parmar, the first Chief Minister of the State. He said that the last two years have been adversely affected due to the corona pandemic, but the State Government ensured that the pace of development goes uninterrupted. He said that the Nation was fortunate that in this testing times it was led by a strong leadership in form of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He said that it was due to his timely decisions and initiatives that India emerged as a model of effective covid management for rest of the world.
Chief Minister said that the State Government during the Covid pandemic ensured that there was no dearth of oxygen, ventilators, beds etc. for the covid patients. He said that when this pandemic broke-out in the State, there were only 50 ventilators. He said that the State Government took up the matter with the Centre and Prime Minister Narendra Modi and 500 ventilators were provided immediately to the State by the Centre under PMCAREs. He said that the State Government also brought home about 2.50 lakh Himachalis stranded in different parts of the country by special buses and trains. He said that two year back there were only two Oxygen Plants in the State, but today the State has 30 PSA Oxygen Plants. He said that alround and balanced development of the State was the sole objective of the present State Government.
Deputy Commissioner Sirmour and Chairman Mela Committee R.K. Gautam hounoured the Chief Minister by presenting him a memento and ‘Dangra’. He also detailed about various events being organized during this seven-day fair.
Vice-Chairperson of State Red Cross Society and wife of Chief Minister Dr. Sadhna Thakur, Power Minister Sukh Ram Chaudhary, MP and State BJP President Suresh Kashyap, MLA Nahan Dr. Rajiv Bindal, MLA Renuka Vinay Kumar, MLA Pachhad Reena Kashyap, Vice Chairman State Civil Supplies Corporation Baldev Tomar, Chairman State Agriculture Market Board Baldev Bhandari, Chairperson Zila Parishad Sirmour Seema, senior BJP leader from area Balbir Chauhan, Chairman BDC Sangrah Mela Ram Sharma, APMC Sirmour Rameshwar Sharma, SP Sirmour Omapati Jamwal were present on the occasion among others.
