Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu will now represent the budget on March 17 at 11 am. Earlier, it was proposed to present it at 2 pm. There will be no meeting of the Assembly on March 15. This decision has been taken in the meeting of the Business Advisory Committee.
Assembly Speaker Kuldeep Singh Pathania said that on the recommendation of the Business Advisory Committee, a partial change has been made in the calendar issued for the budget session. Now the session will not be held on March 15. Pathania said that now there will be no meeting on March 14, 15, and 16, while on March 17, the Chief Minister will present the budget estimates for the financial year 2025-2026 in the House at 11:00 am instead of 2:00 pm.
Pathania said that the proposal not to hold the session meeting on March 15 and to present the budget on March 17 at 11:00 am instead of 2:00 pm has been brought by the Parliamentary Affairs Minister on behalf of the government, to which the opposition has also given its consent. Parliamentary Affairs Minister Harsh Vardhan Chauhan, Leader of Opposition Jairam Thakur, Deputy Chief Whip of the Government of Himachal Pradesh Kewal Singh Pathania, Member Sukh Ram Chaudhary and Member Vinod Kumar were present in the meeting of the Business Advisory Committee.
Responding to the question of extension of meetings, Pathania said that the meeting of the Business Advisory Committee is held every week, in which a decision is taken with the consent of both parties whether the session should be extended or not, but no such proposal has been brought in today’s meeting. It is noteworthy that according to the earlier calendar, 16 meetings were proposed for the session, which will now be reduced to 15.
The Assembly Speaker said that the meeting of the Business Advisory Committee is held every week. This meeting was also held on Wednesday. In this, Sukhram Chaudhary’s proposal on Private Members’ Day was about outsourced employees. Kewal Singh Pathania’s proposal was about addiction, Deepraj’s on FRA FCA, Vipin Singh Parmar’s on UCC, Jeetram Katwal’s on welfare. In one, 60 minutes of time have been given and in the rest, 45-45 minutes of time have been given.
