It was seemingly hard for Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu to keep emotions under control as he visited village Jadon of Gram Panchayat Mamlig of district Solan that suffered heavy loss of life and property due to a cloudburst. Seven people of the family lost their life due to the disaster. The Chief Minister expressed condolences to the bereaved family and said that it was a heart-wrenching incident. He said that the government stood firmly with the affected people in their distress and assured that all possible help will be provided to the affected.
Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu said that instructions have been given to the district administration to prepare a damage report for Jadon. He said that the loss of precious lives in the accident could not be compensated with any financial assistance, but the state government will do all needful to heal the wounds of the affected. He said that the state government will also provide adequate financial aid to the all disaster affected people of the state to rebuild their houses.
The Chief Minister further stated that in this monsoon season maximum number of cloudburst incidents have been witnessed in the state as compared to the last 50 years. He said that it was necessary to know about the scientific reason behind the sudden rise in the incidents of cloudbursts so that the government could take appropriate action on it reducing the loss of life and property in future.
Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr. (Col) Dhani Ram Shandil, Public Works Minister Vikramaditya Singh, Chief Parliamentary Secretary Mohan Lal Brakta, OSD to the Chief Minister Ritesh Kapret, Deputy Commissioner Manmohan Sharma, SP Gaurav Singh and senior officers were present on the occasion.
