Shimla 13 October. Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu’s visit to Junga has been disappointing. Due to which people’s hopes have been dashed. Former Kasumpti BJP Mandal President Jitendra Bhotka said in a statement issued on Friday that after becoming the CM, Sukhwinder Singh had come to Sukhu Junga for the first time and people were expecting that the CM would announce some new scheme for the Junga area but it did not happen. In his speech of about half an hour, the CM did not mention anything about the problems of Junga area. He said that the most important thing is that no problem of Junga area was put before the CM. Local MLA and Minister Anirudh Singh reached the program when the CM had left the stage. The MLA has had the same view in the BJP government also.
He never raised the issues of Kasupanti area during the tenure of BJP government. Former CM Jai Ram Thakur had upgraded the status of Junga Sub Tehsil to Tehsil. Apart from this, drinking water scheme worth Rs 30 crore was approved for 12 panchayats of Junga area under Jal Jeevan Mission. The BJP government made provision of funds for the building of Degree College Koti.
He said that there is a huge shortage of health and education institutions in Kasupanti constituency, which needs the attention of the government. Junga, the only civil hospital in the area, is struggling due to shortage of staff. There is no specialist doctor in this hospital. Out of eight posts of staff nurse, currently only one staff nurse is working. The most important thing is that National Ambulance Service 108 is not available in any health institution in Junga area.
Bhotka said that the princely city of Junga has not got the status of Nagar Panchayat till date. The population of Junga city is currently around four thousand, which fulfills all the conditions of being an urban body. There is not even a bus stand in Junga. Mashobra is the development block of people of Junga tehsil where people have to change three buses to reach there. He said that out of 26 government senior secondary schools in Kasumpti constituency, only four schools do not have science subjects. He said that Congress has been represented in Kasupanti constituency for the last 21 years and currently there is a cabinet minister from Kasupanti constituency in the state government. They allege that the MLAs of the area hesitate to raise the problems of Kasupanti Vis before the CM.
