Nurses, unemployed, and workers cried out at the rally—the government even made the placards disappear to hide the truth.
Shimla: BJP Rajya Sabha MP Harsh Mahajan, while attacking the Congress government’s “Jan Sankalp Sammelan” held in Mandi, said that in the last three years, the public got only disappointment, inflation, misery and false announcements, but the Congress still came out to celebrate.
He said that the crowd shown at the rally consisted of fewer Congress workers and more government employees and beneficiaries, which proves that the crowd was gathered not out of public support but due to government pressure.
“Nurses face a bleak future—Congress didn’t even see it in the celebration.”
Harsh Mahajan said that at a rally meant to gauge the public’s pulse, thousands of trained unemployed nurses were forced to hold placards and plead for their jobs. He said: “If the government couldn’t provide jobs in three years, it should have at least had the courage to listen to the truth. But here, intoxicated with power, even the nurses’ placards were removed. This is the true face of the Congress party—even opposition is not tolerated!” He said that the voices of nurses, unemployed youth, and employees resonated most strongly at the rally, clearly demonstrating that the public has been deeply affected by Congress’s policies over the past three years.
From ‘Jashn’ to ‘Sankalp’—Congress tried to escape controversy by simply changing its name
Harsh Mahajan took a dig at the Congress government, saying:
“When the morality of celebrating was lost, the name was changed to ‘Jan Sankalp Sammelan’. But the public recognizes by work, not by name. Three years of misrule cannot be hidden by a name change.” He said that celebrating in disaster-stricken Mandi already hurt public sentiments. Opposition pressure and public outrage forced the Congress to change the name of the event.
The Deputy CM’s statement about ‘dealing in the dark’ exposed the dictatorial mindset of the government.
Harsh Mahajan strongly condemned Deputy CM Mukesh Agnihotri’s statement, in which he said, “We will deal with officers in the dark of night, and we will crush those who oppose the government.” Mahajan responded, “Threatening the bureaucracy, threatening to crush them, and using language like destroying them is not democratic, but the hallmark of dictatorship.” He said that the Congress government is so immersed in the abuse of power that it doesn’t hesitate to intimidate even democratic institutions.
Harsh Mahajan said that this program of the Congress government is not about achievements but an attempt to prepare the ground for the 2027 elections.
He said: “What they couldn’t do in three years, they are now trying to mislead the public again by showing dreams of the next two years.” He said that the Congress, by inviting beneficiaries to the rally in the name of government programs, has made it part of its political agenda—a serious misuse of government machinery.
“In three years, the public has got only unemployment, a poor health system, inflation, broken roads and hollow promises.
Mandi’s ‘Jan Sankalp Sammelan’ cannot hide the anger of the people.
The bigger the platform, the bigger the public anger.” The BJP leader said the party would highlight these failures of the Congress government on every platform and would stand as the voice of every citizen of Himachal.
