The Chitrakoot School of Liberal Arts organised an insightful and unique discussion on the eve of the 72nd years of the adoption of the Indian Constitution by the Constituent Assembly of India.
India observes “Constitution Day” and “National Law Day” every year on November 26 to commemorate the constituent assembly’s adoption of the Indian Constitution.
Dr. Kunwar Siddarth Dadhwal, Assistant Professor of Political Science at Shoolini University, began the session by setting the context and relevance of the day.
Kavita and Taranveer second year Undergraduate (UG) students, read the preamble in Hindi and English, respectively. Roohani and Rashmi second year UG student talked about the historical background of the drafting of the Indian Constitution and the basic structure of the Indian Constitution, respectively. Muskan, first-year UG student, elaborated on the challenges to India’s constitutional democracy along with its strengths.
Concluding remarks on the discussion were given by Roohani and Kavita. The session attracted a constructive discussion and some inquisitive questions from the students and faculty from different programmes and schools at Shoolini University.
