Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu on Saturday made a night halt at Tikkar village of Kupvi tehsil of Chaupal sub-division of Shimla district under the state government’s ambitious initiative ‘Sarkar Gaon Ke Dwar’. Local cuisine was served to the Chief Minister and other guests at the dinner. During this time, wild chicken was also served in the meal, which has now become a controversy. However, the Chief Minister did not consume it. Now the video of wild chicken being served in CM’s program is going viral on social media. BJP state spokesperson Chetan Bragta also targeted. Said that wild chicken was served to the CM and other guests at the dinner at Tikkar in Kupvi. Wild chicken also appeared on the menu. Said that the wild cock comes under protected species. The Chief Minister should apologize for this and action should be taken against those serving wild chicken. BJP’s media in-charge Karan Nanda said that wild cock is a scheduled bird, Himachal has again been disgraced. Jungle Rooster is found in areas at altitudes above 3000 feet in Himachal Pradesh. This species is legally protected and hunting it is a punishable offence.
On the matter, Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu said that due to health reasons, I avoid both oily and non-veg dishes. But Jairam did not find any issue so he chose the path of defaming our villagers. The opposition leaders now have no issue, they just work to tarnish the image of the villagers. Non-veg is a staple of mountain life.

On Saturday evening, the people of Tikkar welcomed CM Sukhu as per rural tradition. While walking on the road, the Chief Minister interacted with children, elderly people and women. During this, the villagers also informed the Chief Minister about their problems. The Chief Minister gave directions to the officials on the spot and asked them to ensure time-bound solutions. After this the Chief Minister reached the house of Hari Singh, resident of Tikkar village of Kupvi. Hari Singh greeted the Chief Minister as per rural tradition. While having a bonfire at his house, the Chief Minister also took information from the villagers about the health services and education system available in the area. The Chief Minister also talked to the villagers on many topics including local folk culture, customs and cuisine. He enjoyed the melodious sounds of folk music and the local cuisine. On this occasion, Health Minister Dr. (Colonel) Dhani Ram Shandil, State Congress General Secretary Rajneesh Kimta and other dignitaries were present. In the morning the CM danced with the villagers and left for Shimla.
