Prof. Sudhir Kumar, Head of the Department, Biotechnology and Bioinformatics, JUIT, Solan, Himachal Pradesh shared that Mr. Yash Sharma, an alumni of our department who was our M.Sc. Biotechnology student, qualified CSIR NET examination 2023 with all India Rank 129. He also mentioned that one student Mr. Darpan Miglani of B. Tech. Biotechnology has been offered admission from two prestigious universities, the University of Nottingham for Bioengineering program and the University of Glasgow for Biomedical Sciences. Both universities are part of the esteemed Russell Group and consistently ranked in the top 100 worldwide.
The IPR cell of JUIT informed that the copyright of a term – QUADON (related to DNA bases and their organization) is registered in the name of JUIT. This work was done by Mr. Umang Maheswhari, who is an alumni and done his B. Tech. Biotechnology from JUIT. He did his minor project with his mentor Prof Tiratha Raj Singh in the area of Bioinformatics. Mr Umang and Prof. Singh are the investigators for this copyright registration. Currently Mr Umang is studying in Dresden, Germany. Prof. Singh who is Media In-charge of JUIT mentioned that Umang is a very sincere, hardworking and dedicated student from the very beginning and it is reflected in his growth.
Students and their respective family members are very happy and they gave full credit to the department of Biotechnology and Bioinformatics and JUIT for providing strong foundation to their wards for shaping a beautiful career. Prof Rajendra Kumar Sharma, Vice-Chancellor of Jaypee University of Information Technology, Waknaghat congratulated all the faculty members and the selected students and their families.
