TCP Minister directs to include the Disaster Risk Reduction aspects in development plans
TCP Housing and Technical Education Minister, Rajesh Dharmani in a review meeting with the Town and Country Planning Department, late evening on Wednesday, stated that the town planning may be based on the historical aspect as our ancestors used to do in the past. “We have seen that our ancestors used to meticulously plan the location of settlements taking into consideration the proper drainage system and also ensuring that the green cover remains intact.
Directing the officers, the Minister said that planning must be implemented on the suggestions of stakeholders, instead of forcing the norms upon them and also directed to include the disaster risk reduction aspects in the development plans by the TCP department in collaboration with the State Disaster Management Authority
The Minister directed to update the recruitment and promotion rules. Besides, the TCP department may consider an apprenticeship scheme on the analogy of the education department. He also directed to empanel the geologist experts, landscape engineers and environmental planners to assist in planning aspects. Apart from this, the Baddi-Barotiwala-Nalagarh Development Authority (BBNDA) should be tied with the TCP department for which the department, in consultation with BBNDA, should take up the matter for consideration with the Government.
He said that to ease the online permission process for building designs and blueprints, Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu launched the Auto-DCR (Developments Control Regulation) Building Permission System on Wednesday, for which he thanked the Chief Minister.
He said that the applicants can apply on the online DCR system within all the planning area under Town and Country Planning (TCP) on https://hptcp.hp.gov.in and in six Urban Local Bodies, viz: MC, Shimla, Solan, Baddi-Barotiwala-Nalagarh Development Authority (BBNDA), Municipal Council Theog and Baddi and Nagar panchayat Arki can apply online on the portal.
