Threats to ‘fix officers in the dark of night’ — atmosphere of fear, anarchy and authoritarianism in Himachal: Randhir
Three-year celebration ignores people’s suffering — event turns into a display of failures, false guarantees and anti-public decisions
Shimla.
Reacting sharply to the Congress government’s three-year celebration held in Mandi, BJP State Media Incharge and senior MLA Randhir Sharma said the event was not a celebration but an open exhibition of three years of failed governance, betrayal and mismanagement. He said the statements made from the stage by Congress leaders themselves clearly exposed that the government is collapsing from within, riddled with internal conflict, while the people continue to suffer under heavy burdens.
Randhir Sharma said the most shocking and unprecedented moment was when Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri openly termed his own Chief Minister “incompetent”, incapable and indecisive, exposing the government’s inner collapse before the public.
He said this was the first time in Himachal’s history that the second-highest office-bearer in the government publicly attacked the Chief Minister’s credibility. “It is now evident that the Congress ship is shaking from within, leadership is divided, and the government has lost moral and administrative control,” Sharma added.
He further said that Pradesh Congress in-charge Rajni Patil adding to the embarrassment by calling Mukesh Agnihotri the “Man of the Match” only legitimized such reckless remarks.
“If humiliating the Chief Minister is ‘Man of the Match’, then the people can very well understand the direction in which this government has driven Himachal in the last three years,” Sharma remarked.
Threats to officers — collapse of democratic conduct
Randhir Sharma condemned the Deputy Chief Minister’s shocking statement threatening that officers would be “dealt with in the dark of night”, “rubbed down” and “destroyed”.
He said such language is an attack on Himachal’s dignified administrative culture and democratic ethos.
Sharma added:
“Having no development to show after three years, the Congress government is now misusing power, intimidating officers, employees and the public. This is dangerous for the peace and dignity of the state.”
He warned that this style of politics could push the state towards instability and fear.
