The Department of English at Shoolini University has brought out a desktop calendar for 2021 that showcases the choicest texts of world literature, ranging from the Panchatantra and The Arabian Nights to the Jataka Tales, Decameron, and the tales of the Brothers Grimm.
The Chancellor of Shoolini, Prof. Prem Kumar Khosla, received the first copy of the calendar and congratulated the department for the initiative and motivated them to continue their creative efforts.
Prof. Manju Jaidka, Head of the Department of English, said that this was yet another attempt to extend the reach to established literary classics among lovers of literature. Aesthetically designed, and in attractive colours, the calendar depicts the works of Homer, Chaucer, Dante, Aesop, Farid-ud-in Attar, and other writers whose names are immortal. Illustrations are accompanied by short notes from their tests, making the calendar a visual delight.
Faculty members from the Department of English, and senior officials, were also present during the calendar launch.
