Like ration cards, electricity meters will also be linked to Aadhar card of the Himachalis.
The board management will do eKYC of the meters installed in the houses. This eKYC will be done by the employees of the electricity board door to door. The instructions have been issued by the electricity board management to all the four zone chief engineers, operation circle, CE electric sub division and field staff of the state.
The eKYC of electricity consumers will be done through the mobile app of the electricity board. In the primary phase, the survey of the electricity board will be done for domestic consumers and hotel owners. Through this, the electricity board will come to know how many meters have been installed in the houses and which consumer is using which meter.
The meters of the landlord and tenants in the houses will also have different identities. In this survey of the board, 300 units of free electricity will also be given to the consumers by the government in the coming days.
This survey will be done by the employees who cut the electricity bill. Along with giving electricity bill, the employees will do eKYC of the consumers through mobile app. For this, the electricity bill meter consumer will need Aadhar card, ration card, old electricity bill and registered mobile for eKYC.
This survey has started across the state including the capital Shimla. In the primary phase, the senior officials of the electricity board have themselves conducted the survey through the app in Shimla city. Now the employees will conduct this survey by going door to door.
