In Syathi village of Mandi district, 67 people were saved due to the timely warning given by a pet dog ‘Rocky’. On the dark night of June 30, at around 12:30 am, when the landslide started amidst heavy rain, Rocky started barking loudly at night, then his owner Narendra came down and saw that a big crack had formed along the house and water was entering the house.
He immediately woke up the family and went to the nearby 22 houses and alerted the people.
Everyone reached safe places in time. Rocky’s alertness and Narendra’s readiness saved the entire village from a big tragedy.
