Dr. Ashu has been involved in the development of randomized response methods, sample survey techniques, and statistical models for forecasting the area and production of fruits, vegetables, and dairy production.
She has so far guided seven PhD and 21 postgraduate students as principal advisor and has been a member of the advisory committee of 80 students. Dr. Chandel has published more than 50 research papers and several manuals and books. She has successfully conducted several major projects as co-principal investigator and also helps students in preparing for competitive examinations in statistics and mathematics.
Dr. Chandel aims to provide quality and practical education to the students, develop models for segregating high- and low yielding varieties with special focus on Desi varieties, carry out stability and compatibility analysis to identify stable and suitable genotypes .
