Dr. S.P. Katyal, Chairman, State Food Commission, Himachal Pradesh, made a courtesy call on the Governor of Himachal Pradesh Shiv Pratap Shukla here today.
Dr. S.P. Katyal apprised the Governor about the functioning of the State Food Commission and the initiatives undertaken over the past one month. He also highlighted the core schemes being reviewed and closely monitored by the Commission under the National Food Security Act, 2013, which included Targeted Public Distribution System (TPDS), PM-POSHAN, Integrated Child Development Scheme (ICDS) and Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana (PMMVY).
The Governor appreciated the efforts of the Commission and shared valuable suggestions to further strengthen the system and make services more accessible to the people at large.
On this occasion, Dr. Katyal also suggested that the present month would be most suitable for visiting the Shirgul Maharaj Mandir at Churdhar. His Excellency graciously agreed to the suggestion.
