A group of intoxicated tourists created chaos near Jarad on a four-lane highway by vandalising a roadside dhaba and brutally assaulting its owner. The incident occurred early morning at around 4:45 am.
According to police, the dhaba is run by Ravikant, a resident of Panjgain in Bilaspur district. Ravikant was working at his dhaba when three individuals arrived in a Haryana-registered vehicle. Without placing any order or seeking permission, they began picking up items from the dhaba. When the owner objected, the trio allegedly started a fight.
Soon after, another vehicle arrived carrying four more people. All the accused were reportedly under the influence of alcohol. Together, they assaulted the dhaba owner and struck him on the head with a bottle, leaving him bleeding. The attackers also damaged tables and other property at the dhaba before fleeing the scene.
The complainant sustained injuries to his head, back, and other parts of the body. Police have registered a case, conducted his medical examination, and initiated treatment. Superintendent of Police Madan Lal confirmed that a case has been registered and investigations are underway.
