Shimla: Devotees planning to visit Jakhu Temple during the Dussehra festival should take note of special traffic arrangements announced by Shimla Police. To ensure smooth traffic movement and facilitate pilgrims, cars heading towards the temple will be stopped at Navbahar, from where devotees will have to walk to the shrine.
Shimla Superintendent of Police Gaurav Singh has appealed to devotees and the general public to avoid using private vehicles, particularly cars, while visiting Jakhu Temple during the festival. He advised pilgrims to plan their journeys according to the prescribed traffic arrangements to avoid inconvenience.
The police have also made provisions for elderly devotees and those unable to walk due to health issues or other reasons. HRTC taxis will be available to help such pilgrims reach Jakhu Temple and offer prayers.
Shimla Police has urged visitors to leave home with sufficient time, keeping possible delays due to traffic restrictions in mind. Vehicle owners have also been advised to park only in designated parking areas and strictly follow police instructions.
The special arrangements aim to manage the expected rush of devotees during Dussehra and ensure a safe and hassle-free pilgrimage to the hilltop shrine.
