Ration cards of consumers who do not get e-KYC done may be blocked
Hamirpur 05 December
The last date for e-KYC of ration card holders has been extended till December 31. District Controller of Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department, Arvind Sharma said that as per the instructions of the government, the department has launched a campaign to conduct e-KYC of ration card holders across the state.
He told that under this campaign, every ration card member has to get his e-KYC done in the fair price shop from where he takes ration. During the e-KYC process, every ration card member has to match his name, date of birth etc. with his Aadhaar data.
Arvind Sharma said that till now only 78 percent ration card holders have got their e-KYC done in Hamirpur district. Despite repeatedly extending the last date for this, many consumers are not getting their e-KYC authentication done. Now if a consumer does not get his e-KYC authentication done even by 31st December, his ration card can be blocked.
The District Controller said that those ration card consumers who have not yet got e-KYC done should get it done soon at their nearest fair price shop. People living in other districts of the state due to education, employment or other reasons can get their e-KYC done at the nearest fair price shop.
